First annual Chamber Christmas Run-Terrific Tuesday holiday fun continues

An anonymous donor has contributed $100 in Chamber Bucks for the First Annual Christmas Run on Tuesday,  Dec. 16, with prizes being allocated for 1st place, $75 in Chamber Bucks, 2nd place, $50, and 3rd place, $25.

The run promises to be an exciting new event to the Terrific Terry Tuesday night fun! Modeled after a poker run, participants are invited to sign up at Prairie Abstract any time after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, for a $1 entry fee. Participants build their hands by visiting participating retail businesses around town and drawing a free card.

Children invited to shop at Evelyn Cameron Christmas Store Dec. 7

On Sunday, Dec. 7,  Evelyn Cameron Heritage, Inc. will be hosting its first annual Evelyn Cameron Christmas Store for preschool age through 6th graders. Parents are invited to drop off their kids at the Evelyn Cameron Heritage Center on 204 Laundre Ave. while they do a little Christmas shopping of their own at local businesses around town.

It’s time to simply “Let It Be Christmas” in Terry, with the Prairie County Chamber of Commerce sponsored Terrific Tuesdays, and other events coming this holiday season. With a nod to singer Alan Jackson’s song, the theme “Let It Be Christmas” will anchor both traditional and new events in Terry this December.
On Terrific Tuesdays, many businesses will stay open until 7 p.m. to allow customers extra time to shop. The schedule of events includes:

For Jim and Sandy Ross summer and fall seasons have come to signify a time of more than the typical leisurely pursuits. The couple, who returned to Terry in 1996, began making and selling magnetic jewelry about eight years ago. Although they continue to enjoy traveling and visiting friends, they now say much of those activities are centered around their jewelry making hobby.

From the depicted badlands used as a backdrop to the yucca plants gracing the foreground, Graham envisions the original locations and experiences that inspired each layer of his completed work.
