Terry wrestlers compete in Lewistown and Williston

 
It was another very competitive weekend for The Terry Wrestling Club. This was a weekend where the club split up with the two junior high wrestlers, Tyler Forcella and Layne Lantis attending an invitational tournament in Lewistown.  There were over 400 wrestlers from more than twenty different towns attending.  It was a bracket format with Forcella having fifteen total wrestlers in his bracket and Lantis with thirteen wrestlers in his.

Seven and counting... Consecutive wins earn Lady Terriers trip to State

With continued intensity, the Lady Terriers’ seven consecutive wins have earned the young team of 12 a cherished trip to the Class C State Tournament.

Terry co-hosts well attended wrestling tourney in Glendive

  Turn out for the first annual Terry/Glendive Folkstyle Invitational Tournament held at the Dawson County High School was outstanding.  There were approximately 310 wrestlers from eastern Montana who participated with wrestlers coming as far aways as Moose Jaw, Canada.

Terry earns place at Divisional championship game

     In a scrappy, physical game against the Roberts team, the Lady Terriers came away with their second consecutive win at the Class C Divisional tournament, earning the team  a place at Saturday night's championship game. They'll face off  against the Broadview-Lavina team. at 8 pm. at Dawson Community College in Glendive

Lady Terriers move on to play Roberts after victory over Absarokee

      In a hard-fought contest during the second game of the Class C Divisional Tournament, the Lady Terriers pulled away in the final moments, ending with an 8-point victory over the Absarokee Lady Huskies. Terriers' 66 - 58 victory means the team will face off against the fourth place 6-C Roberts team, Friday at 6:30 pm at Dawson Community College in Glendive.

Boys finish fifth at district tourney

The Terry team finished their season Saturday morning, in a heartbreaking loss against the Hysham Pirates. The back and forth action found the Terriers trailing early on, but by halftime the hometown team only trailed by one point. Terriers led for a good portion of the second half, but in the remaining three minutes, due in part to missed lay-ups and free-throws the Pirates took over their lead and never let go.

Girls’ coach anticipates season’s accomplishments

  As the Terry High School Girls’ Varsity and Junior Varsity teams begin a new season, head coach Sharilyn Kortum hopes players will come away with more than just improved athletic skills.

     “I want to try and give the kids a positive experience,” Kortum said of the fourteen girls playing this season. “For me, by playing sports you learn a lot of teamwork, discipline and work ethic.”
