Halftime basketball set to begin January 18

 Young basketball players will be taking to the court starting Saturday, January 18, as they participate in the Mentor Halftime Basketball program at Terry Schools. Players in grades kindergarten through 5th grade are encouraged to join by attending the first practice on Jan. 18 at 1 to 3 p.m. at the Terry High School gym. 

The halftime games will be taking place during the varsity home games scheduled at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Game dates include: Jan. 18, 24, 25, 30 and 31, Feb. 8 and 14.

14th annual coyote contest draws 14 teams

 From December 6 through December 8, the Prairie County Sportsman Club held their 14th annual coyote calling contest.

Due to the extreme cold, there were only 14 teams signed up, with 35 individuals. Previous years have drawn in more teams.
Thirty coyotes, one fox and seven porcupines were brought in at check-in.

Calling all players! Annual alumni game on tap

  Plans for the “Annual Close-up Basketball Tournament”, featuring Terry High School alumni and other players with connections to Terry, are underway. Games will be held at the Ray Frank Gymnasium Saturday, Dec. 28. Although times haven’t been announced, games will likely begin in the early evening, said Sharilyn Kortum, who is helping the THS Close-up group organize the event.

Boys fall short at Glasgow games

 The Terry boys lost to Nashua Friday night, 76-63 and Frazer 59-50 on Saturday. Stats from both games are listed below. The team will travel to Lambert Saturday and play at home against the Savage Warriors Monday night.
