Morris was born in Terry, Mont., and spent his younger years on the family ranch on Cabin Creek outside of Fallon. After graduation he was drafted and served four years in the Army.
While still in the service he married Gladys Chapin on July 5, 1944. They had two children — Karen and Doug and two grandchildren — Wayne and Nick, all were the light of their lives. His dear wife died in Sept. 2009, after 65 years of marriage. At 10:45 p.m. on Jan. 13, 2011, it was time for him to join her.
He battled pneumonia from Tuesday morning till death took over him. He never lingered, if there was something to be done he got at it and got it done — death was no different.
Morris always seemed to have something to do. He truly enjoyed life and loved to watch the seasons pass, always seeing the beauty of his surroundings.
Memorial service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Billings.
