Tibbetts earns top prize at state’s largest barrel racing event

        Lana Tibbetts placed first in the Prize Round at the Three Can Tango Barrel Race event held Sept. 24 - 26 at the Yellowstone Fairgrounds in Billings. The largest barrel racing competition in the state, the Three Can Tango marked its 10th anniversary, featuring 250 entries from Montana and the surrounding area. Tibbetts won a Merrill Saddle, valued at $2,200. from Three Forks Saddlery, sponsored by Copper Spring Ranch.

The Three Can Tango Barrel Race is a Women’s Professional Rodeo Association’s approved event.
Tibbetts, who has been competing in barrel racing events since the age of 7, estimates that she attend about 25 barrel racing events each year. Tibbetts serves as the WPRA circuit director for Montana.
