Organizers of Fallon’s annual harvest festival are anticipating another big turnout for the popular community event.
A ranch horse cutting contest will kick off the Sept. 5 celebration at 9 a.m. and will include a children’s division, according to organizer Delite Dukart. About 15 participants are expected to compete, with area sponsors offering prizes. A maximum of 20 can take part.
Fallon residents will begin serving lunch menu items at 11 a.m.
This year’s parade theme is the “Wonder Years,” giving entrants a chance to highlight interesting events and technologies that have occurred.
Childrens’ games will again be offered and will include the gunny sack race, egg toss and tug of war, among others. Marty and Barb Sackman will organize these activities with the help of several Fallon couples.
Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m.
An evening street dance will conclude the day’s events with a performance by OK Olson and the Runaways.
