Pfiefle begins as trustee on hospital board

With two meetings under his belt, Prairie Community Hospital Board Trustee Gary Pfiefle says he’s becoming familiar with the hospital’s surroundings and activities.

Pfiefle began serving on the board in July, after Prairie County Commissioners selected him from a pool of seven interested candidates. Normally the seat is filled through an election by county voters, but due to a missed filing date, county commissioners were mandated to select the trustee.
Pfiefle points to four concerns he hopes to help address during his three-year term. They are:  Assuring the stability and vitality of the hospital, maintaining quality care for patients, limiting a constant turnover rate of employees and facilitating better communication between the hospital board, guild and foundation.
Pfiefle and his wife Lois returned to Terry in 2008.
