Sylvia Everling, 81

  Sylvia Everling, age 81, of Wheat Ridge, CO, formerly of Belcourt, ND passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Collier Hospice Care Center, Wheat Ridge, CO.

Sylvia R. Poitra Everling, a much loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend passed away on October 13, 2009 at the Collier Hospice Care Center in Wheat Ridge, CO.  Sylvia was the historian in the family and whenever someone needed family history she was the one they called.  Sylvia was fond of country music and loved to jig.  She will be greatly missed.
  Sylvia was born December 19, 1927 in Belcourt, ND to her parents Norbert Poitras and Blanche (Davis) Poitras.  She was married to Lewis R. Everling on April 29, 1947.  Lewis and Sylvia settled in Terry, MT after they were married, and Lewis worked in construction and Sylvia was a fry cook for more than 30 years in Eastern Montana.  Lewis passed away in 1961. 
Sylvia is survived by the following children and their spouses: Dennis Everling and daughter-in-law Carla of Colorado Springs, CO, Linus Everling and daughter-in-law Nancy of Phoenix, AZ, Frank Everling of Terry, MT, Jennifer Smith and son-in-law Michael of Miles City, MT, and Bonnie Santos and son-in-law Rick of Denver, CO.  Sylvia is also survived by grandchildren, Lewis Everling, Denise Everling, Dawn Everling, Nicholas Everling, Susan Smith, David Smith, Rudy Hauck, Rindi Hauck, Annabelle Everling, Wayne Everling, Gregory Everling, Sarah Everling, and step-grandchildren, Michael and Katy White Temple.  Sylvia’s great grandchildren are Tommy and McKenzie Greenwood, Isabella and Kateri Everling, and Jordan Everling.  Sylvia is survived by her siblings, Frank Poitras, Lucy (Poitra) Iverson, Gloria Norgren, and Delmar Poitras.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Blanche Lucier, Christine Poitras, Joyce Gourneau, and Cecelia Ross and brothers, Warren Poitras, Leon Poitras, Lawrence Poitras, and Gilbert Poitras. 
Casket Bearers are Rudy Hauck, Taylor Poitras, Jordan Hauck, Katy White Temple, Wayne Everling, and Michael White Temple.
Honorary Bearers are Dennis Everling, Linus Everling, Frank Everling, David Smith, brothers, Frank and Delmar Poitras, and all nephews.
Music by Leonard Keplin, Ed Johnson, Alvin Poitra, Rita Baker, Theresa Marcellais, and others.

  Visitation was held on Sunday, October 18, 2009 in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 8 PM.  Funeral Mass was held Monday, October 19, 2009 at the church with Father Mark Ropel, S.O.L.T.  Burial was in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
