A Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Leona Patrick, 78 will be conducted from the Anaconda Chapel of KT Riddle Funeral Homes, Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Phil Masters officiating.
Leona passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at St. Patrick Hospital of Missoula.
Leona Palma was born on February 19, 1931 in Watkins, Montana (north of Miles City), to John and Christina (Borth) Schlinker. Leona received her education in Terry, Montana
Leona married Robert Wesley “Punk” Riley in Terry on June 25, 1948, they lived throughout Montana with a short stay in California, The marriage was blessed with five children, before they divorced in 1975. She married Harold “Pat” Patrick on May 15, 1980, they resided in Deer Lodge, Pat passed away on May 31, 2003, Leona moved to Anaconda after Pat’s death.
Besides raising five children, Leona was an excellent cook, and was able to fill a cook’s shoes wherever they landed. She retired from Galen State Hospital, where she worked as a cook for many years and later a custodian.
Leona enjoyed many activities in her life, including craft projects, she also enjoyed fishing and camping. She had a special love for animals.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Washoe Park Foundation.
Survivors include two children and their spouses; Wesley “Buster” and Sheila Riley of Anaconda, Bob and Bev Riley of San Antonio, Texas, Sandie and Rick Bousquet of Metaline Falls, Washington, Marcie and Tab Young of Kila, Montana. Grandchildren Melinda Reynolds, Brian Riley, Kim Pieske, Kelly Grinolds, Jason Bousquet, Jessie Bousquet, and Aaron Schroder, four great-grandchildren and her prided joy was her newest grandson Riley Reynolds, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her husbands, Leona is also preceded in death by a daughter Gloria Schroder, two brothers Emil and David Schlinker, and two sisters Pauline “Sally” Sunberg, and Elsie Wolfe.
