Miles City native begins post as hospital administrator

With just a little over a week into his new position, Prairie Community Hospital administrator Parker Powell, said he is getting to know the staff and familiarizing himself with the hospital’s routine.

“I’m looking forward to getting out in the community,” Powell said.
Powell, a Miles City native who graduated from Custer County District High School in 2003, was working as an Administrative Intern for St. John’s Lutheran Ministries in Billings before moving to Terry.
He attended Montana State University in Bozeman for two years before graduating with a degree in Healthcare Administration/Marketing from MSU-Billings.
Powell will spend one day a week at the Glendive Medical Center for the first year, working with GMC CEO Scott Duke and the leadership team there.
An avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing, Powell noted he is happy to be living and working in eastern Montana.
“I’m really enjoying it. I think it’s a great opportunity.”
Powell has two older brothers, one who lives in Billings and one who lives in South Dakota. His parents live in Miles City.
