Antique tools displayed

Friends, family and neighbors gathered Sunday afternoon at the home of Dennis and Maggie Hjorth for a showing of Dennis Hjorth’s extensive collection of antique tools.

In a shop lined with peg boards of tools ranging from drills to monkey wrenches, many apparatuses were easily 100 years old or more, according to Hjorth.
An Auto Theft Signal System Tool could arguably be one of the most unique tools in the bunch. Used to prevent the theft of Ford Model
T automobiles, the circular device with a pointed edge, was used when fastened to a tire. If the pointed edge digging into the dirt, didn’t stop the thievery motion of the vehicle, the tool’s ultimate effect of breaking the spokes inside the tire undoubtedly did.
