Pool is open; swimming lessons planned

The Terry Swimming Pool opened for the season Thursday, June 26.  So far the pool has only needed to close one day due to rain showers, according to pool manager Michelle Wolff.

The pool is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. It will be closed for the Fourth of July.

An adult swim night is available Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a time designated strictly for adults to enjoy the pool. While a kids fun night will be held each Thursday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Individual day passes cost $4 each. Season tickets are for sale at the pool office.

Swimming lessons will begin July 14. Those interested in signing up may pick up a registration form at the pool office, town hall or download a copy online at www.townofterry.com/swimmingpool. There is a $20 fee for each swimmer.

The two week lessons will be held on weekday mornings through July 25. Classes will be divided into levels.

For more information on the swimming lessons offered please call the Terry Pool Office at 635-5451.

Wolff is expecting a fun season for swimmers and said the pool has already seen up to 30 swimmers at a time.

As far as reminders, Wolff is encouraging swimmers to “have fun and listen to the lifeguards.”
