Pool workers ready for swim season

Pool manager Michelle Wolff puts the finishing touches on the outside decor of the pool house.

Terry pool employees were busily working last week in preparation for Saturday’s ‘Save Our Pool’ Kids Summer Fest fund raiser, held in Murn Park. Pool manager Michelle Wolff and this year’s lifeguards painted the pool house inside and out Thursday evening and Friday morning. Town employees were also on hand preparing the pool and park for the event as well as for this year’s swimming season.

The Terry Pool has undergone major construction this year in order to ensure a swimming season could take place. Fund raising efforts have been  in full swing to help cover costs of the repairs, including a raffle and Saturday’s Summer Fest event. Other fund raising efforts will be taking place.

Wolff, who has also taken lifeguard training, said they hope to have the Terry Pool open Saturday, June 21. Rain delayed the pool from opening a week earlier on the 14th.

Lifeguards Katrina Shumway and Zak Gierke worked
Friday morning to add a festive decor to the front of the pool house.

This year’s lifeguards include: Katrina Shumway, Zak Gierke, Deanna Loomis, Sean Loomis, Jason Loomis and Justin Kinn. The group traveled to Billings earlier this month to take in weekend lifeguard lessons at Rocky College.

The pool’s tentative opening hours will be Monday through Saturday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a Tuesday evening adult swim as well as a Thursday evening kids fun night. Lessons are hoped to be held early in July.
