High school music students Exelee Lacquement, Kylie Helmuth and Valerie
Greenfield wil be leaving Friday for Billings to compete in the State Music Festival.
Five entries from three Terry High School music students earned a superior rating at the District Music Festival held in Glendive, April 11 and 12. Those three students — senior Exelee Lacquement, junior Kylie Helmuth and freshman Valerie Greenfield — will now have a chance to compete at the State Music Festival in Billings this weekend.
Lacquement will be performing a vocal solo and a clarinet solo. Helmuth will be performing a vocal solo and flute solo, while Greenfield will perform a vocal solo.
Noting this year’s district adjudicators judged tougher than in previous years, music teacher JoDee Hess said she was happy with all of the performances of the students.
“I am very proud of how our students presented themselves and am so glad that I get to work with each of them on a daily basis,” Hess responded in an email.
The following are results from the District Music Festival. (A superior rating is denoted by a I, while an excellent rating is a II)
