Portion of Frank Sir donation used to update hospital’s resident rooms

The Prairie Community Hospital Foundation recently announced that a major gift has been received from Frank Sir.  Sir gifted a substantial donation of $20,000 in H Savings Bonds from his estate to benefit the Hospital campus and facility.

Sir was born on a homestead in rural Prairie County in October, 1917.  His sister, Lydia Sir, was a nurse for many years at the Prairie Community Hospital. The Sir family has been very giving to the medical and educational entities in the area, and touched numerous lives with their selfless generosity.
This most recent donation comes in addition to a $45,000 donation previously received by the Prairie Community Hospital from Frank Sir in 2010.  The previous donation received was used to remodel the rooms of the facility’s Long Term Care residents, and provided funds for a whirlpool bath tub with lift chair. To quote Frank Sir’s eulogy: “It’s like throwing a stone into a pond; the ripples just keep going, as will the effects of his giving, long after today.”
The PCH Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation that is committed to the benefit of the Prairie Community Hospital and the Prairie County Clinic.
