Gordon (Gor) David Lynam, age 92, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, December 5, 2013.
Born in Miles City, Montana, February 13, 1921 to Edward and Louise Lynam Gordon was one of three children. He graduated from Custer High School. Gor attended Compton College in California before he went into the U.S. Coast Guard. While in the service Gordon married Ruth Esther Schlenz.
Gordon was a painter/wall paper hanger by trade and took much pride in his work and the variety of jobs he was fortunate to do. He worked in the Los Angles, California area for several years then Gor and his family returned to Eastern Montana. Settling in Terry, Montana Gor and Ruth were proprietors of the Kempton Hotel and L & M Drive In. Gordon was a trustee of the Prairie County School District, a member of the Terry City Council, finally serving as city Mayor.
In later years Gordon and Ruth went back to California then to Las Vegas where Gor lived 39 years until his death. Gordon is survived by his brother Ed, daughter Konnie, sons Rod and Don, a grand-daughter Tamera and two great-grandchildren Jackson and Jocelyn. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elsie, and wife Ruth.
