Pouring on the pies

Terry High School students Deanna Loomis and Maxine Maue pour their freshly made meringue as they spread the mixture on top of a lemon pie during Tuesday morning’s culinary art class. The girls were among 10 students who have been preparing pies this week for the Community Thanksgiving Meal, which will be held Nov. 28 at the Bolin multi-purpose room.

The freewill dinner, which begins at 12:15, is offered to anyone in the community who would like to attend, and is made possible through the donations of time and goods, demonstrated by these high school students, who will be contributing 20 pies to the dessert table.

Josh Stickel, Trevin Schroeber and Zak Gierke prepare chocolate filling.
