Sheriff applicants narrowed to three

      The Board of Prairie County Commissioners has announced the list of six candidates applying for the Prairie County Sheriff seat has been narrowed to three, according to a press release issued by the board.
      Those being considered to fill the vacancy left by former Sheriff Bill Klunder are: Larry Keltner, Jason Smith and Duncan Hedges.
      Interviews of the six applicants were conducted by the board Wednsday, Oct. 9.
      Following reference and background checks the board anticipates making a final decision next week.
