Changes, injury contribute to JV loss to Mustangs

By Coach Sheryl Morast

The Terrier Junior Varsity volleyball team fell to the Jordan Mustangs for a second week in a row, this time in 3 straight games.

The JV team was effected by the adjustments made to the varsity team. As a varsity starter, Valerie Greenfield is no longer eligible to play junior varsity, so Katelynn Mendenhall had to step in and play the middle blocker position and did a very good job considering the limited time she had practicing the position.
Callie Hedges led the Terriers offense with 4 kills.  In the third game Kylie Helmuth hit her face on the floor and broke her nose while diving for a loose ball. With their veteran setter and team captain out, the Terriers had to make a quick adjustment from a two setter system to a one setter system.  With so many adjustments that had to be made, the Terriers had a hard time getting anything going in the match.
Terry JV v. Jordan JV – 14-25; 12-25; 7-15
Aces 6 (2 with 2 each); Kills 12 (Hedges 4); 6 Digs (Dakotah Luedtke 3); Blocks 1 (Ashley Wells 1); Assists 9 (Helmuth 8)
