Terriers outpace Fusion 78-60

By Coach Greg Mendenhall

The Terriers started their on-the-road stretch with a game against the Richey/Lambert Fusion, Saturday, Sept. 21.  Following the loss to Savage last week the Terriers needed a victory.  The Fusion were in the same boat — everyone knew this was going to be a tough game.

The Terriers kicked off to the Fusion, and were able to stop the first drive. The offense took over and on the second play was able to run the ball 71 yards for a touchdown. The Fusion fought back and the first half ended with the Terriers trailing by 13 points.
The second half was a different story, the Fusion were unable to keep up the pace, or stop the Terrier passing game, by the fourth quarter the Terriers were in the lead.
The final score was 78 to 60.
The offense had 472 yards passing and 201 yards rushing to gain them the 12 touchdowns and the victory.
Scoring was as follows:  Kyle Lassle with 7 TD passes and 3 rushing TDs; Trevin Schroeber 3 TD receptions; Lane Stickel, 1 passing TD, 3 receiving TDs; Jordan Lassle, 1 receiving TD, 1 fumble recover for a TD; Austin Smith, 1 receiving TD and 3 PAT kicks.
The defense had its hands full with a good Fusion offense.  They managed to make stops when we needed them.
Here are the stats for our Terriers: Kyle Lassle, 17 tackles; Tyler Sackman, 14 tackles; Jordan Lassle, 12 tackles, 1 fumble recovery; Lane Stickel, 9 tackles, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery; Connor Self, 6 tackles; Tryston Seteren, 5 tackles; Austin Kountz, 5 tackles; Austin Smith, 4 tackles, 1 fumble recovery; Justin Kinn, 4 tackles; Trevin Schroeber, 3 tackles.
Good job Terriers, you showed great character coming from behind to win again.  The team is really coming together.
