The Terriers had an awesome season opener. The hard fought game against the Reed Point Rapelje Renegades ended with a Terrier victory.
What a great way to wrap up the homecoming activities.
The Terriers scored on the second play of the game, a sweep to the wide side of the field and held the lead until the closing seconds of the first half. The Renegades scored on plays following 2 onside kicks they recovered to take the halftime lead.
Starting the second half the Terriers were able to regain the lead for a short time but ended up trailing most of the second half.
With about 2 minutes left in the game the Terriers were able to regain the lead with a short pass from Lane Stickel to Kyle Lassle. A good kick, strong defensive effort and an interception by Dylan McCulley put the game to rest: Terry 37 Reed Point/Rapelje 34.
Leading the Terrier offense was Kyle Lassle with 123 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Jordan Lassle had 97 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. On defense Tyler Sackman lead with 12 tackles, Kyle Lassle 11, Jordan Lassle 10 and a fumble recovery, Lane Stickel 8, Justin Kinn 5, Austin Kountz 4, Connor Self 4, Brady Strasheim 3, Trevin Schroeber 3, Austin Smith 2, Dylan McCulley 2 and 2 interceptions, and Tryston Seteren with 1 and 1 interception.
This was a team win and I hope to have many more. All of the Terrier football players should be proud of the part they played.
The Terriers will face off against the Savage Warriors on the Terry home field, Saturday, September 14 at 1 p.m.
