The Terry High School volleyball team headed to Fairview on Saturday, August 31 to participate in an Invitational tournament featuring 5 teams from the District 2C and five teams from District 1C.

This was a great opportunity for the Terriers to see how they will match up this season against teams in their Division.
The tournament started out with pool play. The Terriers first match was against Broadus, a team that is new to our conference.  First game jitters showed a bit, but the Terriers won the match 2-1. The second match was against Scobey and again the Terriers came out on top by a score of 2-1.
For the final match in pool play the Terriers easily defeated Froid/Medicine Lake 2-0.
The top two teams out of each pool qualified for a single elimination tournament. The Terriers finished first in their pool so they earned a bye the first round and waited to play the winner of the Westby/Grenora and Froid/Medicine Lake match.   Westby/Grenora won that match and the Terriers were able to defeat them in two games and moved on to the championship game of the tournament against Jordan.
Jordan won that match by a score of 2-0.
Overall the Terriers played very well for the first competition for the season.   “The girls are really playing well as a team.”  Halle Keltner led the team in serving by serving 99 percent with a total of 15 aces throughout the day.  Caty Morrison led the team with 38 kills for the day.  Alyssa Morast had the most digs for the day with 25.
The 2C Conference is going to be very competitive this year and the Terriers will have to continue to work hard to be at the top.
