Changes to Buffalo Rapids board noted

The Buffalo Rapids Irrigation Project will be holding a May 5 election for a district one board member. Brian Whitmer, who currently holds the position, is running, along with Don Buxbaum. Both reside in district one of the BR Irrigation Project.

BR irrigation project district one landowners, which include those living in both Dawson and Prairie counties, will vote at the Milne Implement Company in Glendive between noon and 8 pm.

Ray Strasheim resigned as acting Buffalo Rapids board member during the April meeting, held earlier this month. Strasheim, who has served on the board for about 35 years, served as president for much of that time, according to BR project manager David Schwarz.
“Ray’s been really progressive-minded,” Schwarz said, noting he has been instrumental in supporting BR’s pipeline project.
Scott Sackman will begin serving on the board next month in the vacated seat.
Other BR board members include: Barry Rakes, Ray Roethle, Clarke Cameron, Wayne Haas, Jim Finneman and Brian Whitmer.
