Museum & Gallery tours hope to inspire sharing of memories

The Prairie County Museum & Gallery is hosting two "Museum & Gallery story hours" on Sunday April 28 and Sunday May 5 from 2-3 p.m.

The intention behind the set aside times is  to give people an opportunity to stop in and share their personal and family stories about the museum, it’s contents and history. These stories will then be compiled together to allow visitors to read these accounts, as well as allow guides to use the stories to help lead guests through the complex.
For instance several people from the area have shared memories of visiting the dentist office, as replicated in the top floor of the museum. Although these stories have been shared numerous times, they have never been written down. Many have been forgotten.  It is the hope of this project to carry on these personal and touching memories from our community.
Community members are to meet at the main museum building and from there the gathering will go through the buildings and hopefully hear many stories to enhance future guests’ experience at the Prairie County Museum & Gallery.
Coffee and cookies will be served afterwards.  If you have any questions, please call Delite at 486-5505.
