The 27th annual Prairie County Health Fair will be held on Thursday, March 21 at the backroom of the American Legion. Lab draws will be from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Five tests will be offered this year. The chemistry profile, which includes cholesterol, thyroid, and lipids, costs $45. The PSA test (Prostrate Cancer) costs $30. The Cardiac Risk Profile costs $70. The A1C test (Diabetic testing) costs $30 and the Vitamin D test which costs $35. “Do not have anything to eat or drink, besides water, for at least 10 hours before the test for the most accurate results,” according to Prairie Community Hospital Director of Nursing, Kay Schaaf.
Fees must be paid at time of service. Attendees must submit charges to their insurance carrier for reimbursement. Prairie Community Hospital will not assume the responsibility of filing any insurance claims. Medicare does not pay for routine Health Fair Blood Screening. There will not be any early draws this year. If you have any questions contact Prairie Community Hospital at 635-5511 or Prairie County Health Department at 635-2020.
