Glendive claims Eastern A team title

The Glendive wrestling team claimed the Eastern A divisional title Saturday in Laurel. Terry High School seniors Layne Lantis and Tyler Forcella, who co-op with the team, were among the 13 who placed in their weight classes — with Lantis earning first in the 135 weight class and Forcella earning third in the 130 class.

Of the 16 Glendive wrestlers there were six champions among the 13 placers.
Those wrestlers will advance to the All Class State Tournament in Billings at the Metra February 8 and 9.
In the first round of wrestling Glendive jumped out to just over a 16 point lead over Eastern A rival Sidney.  Glendive was able to maintain that lead throughout the tournament and was crowned the Eastern A Divisional Champions — beating longtime rival Sidney by 36 points.
