With 2-1 record, boys prepare for Wibaux

Winning two of their three games so far this season, the Terry boys are preparing to host the Wibaux Longhorns Thursday. The junior varsity boys are scheduled to play at 4 p.m., followed by a 5:30 girls’ varsity game and a 7 p.m. boys’ varsity game.

Terry took on Poplar Friday, Dec. 7. Jumping in with a 37-24 lead at halftime, the Terriers  finished the game with a 72-64 victory.
“We played real well and we had a nice lead at the end of the third quarter,” said head coach Nathan Christofferson. This allowed playing time off the bench for some younger players.
In a close matchup, the Terry boys overcame the Jordan Mustangs Friday, Dec. 14 garnering a final score of 58-53.
The Terriers started slow and couldn't find their groove. The team was down by a one point deficit at half.
"I told the kids at half that we have to go out and change the outcome of our play."
They did just that by gaining the lead in the fourth quarter and running time out.
"We didn't have our best game,” Christofferson said. “We did enough to get the lead and kill some time off the clock. ... We won the game just not in the fashion we wanted to."
Terry hosted the Northern Cheyenne Eagles Saturday.
"We knew going into this game the caliber of the opposing team and we knew we had to play better than Friday," Christofferson said.
The Terriers started off well but the Eagles seemed to capture points on everything they tossed up. Terry fell to the Eagles 99-61.
"We may have lost this game but we played alot better,” Christofferson said. “The Eagles were on fire and that's ok, that happens.”
Christofferson noted the young Terrier team will continue to work on the fundamentals as they hope to continue to improve throughout the remaining season.
