With three games under their belt, the Lady Terriers have a 2-1 record so far this season. Terry traveled to Poplar Friday, Dec. 7 for the first game of the 2012-13 season. The Terry girls won handily with a 67-34 victory.
“We played very well for our first game of the season,” said head coach Sharilyn Kortum. “Our shots fell and we played aggressive on defense. It was a fun game.”
Splitting their games this past weekend, the Lady Terriers fell to the Jordan Mustangs at Jordan 39-49 Friday, Dec. 14, but overcame Northern Cheyenne on Saturday with a 59-43 win on Terriers’ home court.
“We beat ourselves,” Kortum said of the game against Jordan. “We played tired and didn’t shoot the ball well. Our hustle was slim to none.”
Seeing improvements in needed areas, Kortum noted the team hustled during Saturday’s home game against Northern Cheyenne.
“Our shooting and defense was much better,” Kortum said. “The girls worked hard.”
The Lady Terriers will host Wibaux Thursday, Dec. 20. The junior varisty game will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the girls’ varsity game scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
“This will be a tough conference game,” Kortum said. ”As will Saturday’s game against Hysham in Hysham.”
A half-girls junior varsity game is tentatively scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. in Hysham.
