Terriers roll over Warriors

The Terry High School gridders took on the Savage Warriors Friday evening on the Warriors’ homefield, ending with a 44-22 win.

"The Warriors have been extremely tough over the past few years,” stated head coach Nathan Christofferson. “So we knew going into this game we would have to click on all cylinders."
Terry came out in the game with a slow start. "We couldn't hold onto some of our potential big plays and it seemed to drag us down a little," Christofferson stated.
Terriers were down 16-8 at the half, scoring only with a first half rushing touchdown from sophomore Kyle Lassle. Senior DJ Hubbert added the extra point.
"At half we just broke down and figured out what our responsibilities were and dedicated ourselves to sticking to our goals and being extra determined,” Christofferson said. Adding, “Savage is a tough place to play."
The halftime message worked, showing its fruits with an interception  and touchdown run by Kyle Lassle on the Warriors’ first possession Hubbert PAT was good.
After that the Terriers rolled over the Warriors.
"Terry's second half defense was so tough that Savage had no where to go with the ball,” Christofferson said. “We pursued, tackled and covered very well.”
Terry furthered on with a touchdown pass from Lassle to Fredrickson. Hubbert PAT was good. Hubbert added 4 more points to the score with a 30 yard field goal. Terriers were up 28-16. Lassle threw Hubbert a 18 yard touchdown pass. Hubbert PAT was good, giving the Terriers a 36-16 advantage. Savage managed one more touchdown making the score 36-22.
Terriers added another 5 yard touchdown pass from Lassle to Hubbert. Hubbert PAT was good. Terry ended the game 44-22.
“This win meant so much to the kids,” Christofferson said. “Being down at half and coming out with the energy they had really showed what they are made of. I think the kids got a taste of winning on an extremely hard fought game and will be ready for the same game in Saturday’s matchup against R&L Fusion."
