Terry boys basketball put two more wins in the book over the weekend.
They started off by traveling to Ekalaka Friday to take on the Bulldogs. The Terriers started a little slow, but with hard work were able to pick it up for a win, 56-34.
"Coming off Christmas break without a game in two weeks is tough on the kids,” said head coach Nathan Christofferson in an email to the Tribune. “They seem to not find their groove right away but after being up at halftime 30-23, it started to come back to the team."
Trevor Pisk led all scorers with 22. Following is DJ Hubbert 15, Weston Luedtke 8, Talon Mack 5, Sergey Fredrickson 3, Kyle Lassle 2, Tyler Sackman 1.
Saturday Terry played host to the Jordan Mustangs. Coming off strong right away, Terry scored 20 points in the first quarter. Their quickness and defense seemed to be too much for the Mustangs to handle as the Terriers finished the game 74-37.
"We have been pressing the ball really hard these past few games and it’s seemed to really speed up our game,”Christofferson said. “Our guys seem to thrive off the fast breaks and hard defense."
“The kids have been doing a great job and just pushing forward to reach the goals we have set. We will continue to work hard and in all hopes produce some more wins," Christofferson said.
Trevor Pisk led the team with 16 with Talon Mack following up with 15. Sergey Fredrickson 12, DJ Hubbert 11, Weston Luedtke 10, Tyler Sackman 8, Kyle Lassle 2.
Terriers are 7-1 for the year and will host the St. Labre team Friday in Terry. Labre is also 7-1, so a hard fought battle will likely be in the making.
